It’s here! Finally, Twelve 37 Filmworks’ award-winning feature documentary is on Blu-ray! The film festival hit makes its debut on Blu-ray complete with the uncompressed soundtrack, the way it was presented in theaters! This is the concert film /documentary that was never supposed to happen, about the reunion concert of the original ALICE COOPER GROUP that was never supposed to happen, BUT DID! Not only did the unrehearsed concert take place on the stage of superfan Chris Penn’s famed Good Records store, but it turned out to be the best recorded live performance ever by the original godfathers of shock rock! Granted, the late Glen Buxton left us far too early, but his parts were lovingly executed with just the right amount of snarl and vinnegar by Alice’s current guitarist, Ryan Roxie. The rest of the group: Michael Bruce, Alice Cooper, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith, all perform a string of unmatched rock staples as if they had never stopped playing together. Alice, event organizer Chris Penn, and film director Steven Gaddis have all stated that this film contains the finest rendition of “I’m Eighteen” ever committed to a recorded medium! This must-own gem of rock’s greatest one-off lands on September 30th in a classy Blu-ray/CD package. This is also the first time the film’s soundtrack has been made available on CD, and this is the only way to get it! As an added bonus, the CD also contains the instrumental version of “Desperado,” the film’s opening title and closing credit track. Included with this release:

Symphonic choral rock sensations The Polyphonic Spree turned to TWELVE 37 FILMWORKS and WHISKEYBEARD FILMS to document their twelve-hour album-making session at breakneck speed just before the pandemic lockdown. In that twelve hours, ten cover songs were recorded and filmed, and are now contained on their new album, Afflatus. The filming of the recording session was directed by Steven Gaddis, Josh David Jordan, and James Pafford, with each director stationed in a different room of the Triplex, capturing separate sections of the band as they recorded simultaneously. One particularly noteworthy cover was the song “The Spirit of Radio,” originally recorded by Rush. The Spree pared down to only its core rock instrument musicians for the song, but they pulled off the famously difficult tune in a single take! Not just in one take, but on the first take! There were no edits in the recording! To compliment the celebratory mood of the track, editor Steven Gaddis applied a rotoscope comic-book like effect. The song garnered some great publicity, earning praises from Rolling Stone magazine and Ultimate Classic Rock! Director/editor Steven Gaddis makes a voice cameo as the DJ at the beginning.
Currently, Twelve 37 Filmworks is focusing on more feature film content. In 2024, be on the lookout for Rick Derringer, Still Alive and Well directed by Gary Mayes coming to screens. Steven Gaddis and Twelve 37 Filmworks was heavily involved in story development and post production on the film, which is produced by Reborn to Rock.
Another feature length music documentary is in development with Steven Gaddis directing, and is looking at going into production in early 2024.
Beyond that, a narrative feature film based on an original screenplay by Steven Gaddis and Thomas C. Lumpkin has also moved into the early stages of development.
There is plenty coming up for this small production outfit. Watch this space!
